R57 Convertible top
Convertible top
Okay, I’ve scoured the Internet, forums, etc. I can’t find anything on how to fix my issue. I have a 2011 MCS convertible. The car logo with the ! Comes up when I try to put the top down/ open sunroof. When I press the all windows down button the front windows go down but nothing else. I can’t get the top to function at all. The switch to move the top doesn’t give me any LED lights. Just that symbol in the Instrument control panel. I’ve tried disconnecting the battery ETC. anyone have any ideas? I’ve tried resetting the windows But to no avail. Please help!
Hello,
Have you tried to scan it with the schwaben scan tool, it pulls up all those internal codes as I used it on my R52 to test and see if their was issues. I could see some of the top functions and hall sensors if they had a fault. I can help also as i have torn apart everything on my R52 an the r57 is similar.

Did you check to make sure the two switches are completely depressed? Both are on the driver's side one in the frame at the top of the boot door and the other under the foot of the cargo shelf.
The ambient temp sensor was bad on my R59 when I first got it preventing the top from opening. Its located behind the front bumper on the passenger side. Its worth a shot to check that as well and is a fairly cheap fix.
