Interested in buying a 2012 Cooper S Convertible with JCW kit including the JCW rims and body kit. I live in norther NJ and am wondering how the tires and body kit perform in the snow. Anyone with any experience? Online searches didn't yield much. I had a 2013 Cooper S Coupe that I leased that was never a problem in the snow. I'm more concerned about the JCW fat tires and body kit for ground clearance. I don't have the option to purchase snow tires because I have no where to store them. Thanks in advance!
I have no problem with a 2012 Roadster S with the JCW kit. I do run snows, but they're 205/45/17 so pretty much the standard size for an S on 17s. I'm not lowered so I don't do much plowing unless it's really deep. Only issue I ever had was high centering myself on a plow berm but a quick push from the plow guy who made the berm (!) and I was on my way again.
Northern NJ here too. We both know they plow the snow very well here so I don't think a JCW body kit would pose an issue. If it comes with summer tires, you are going to be dead meat in the winter. You have got to get a dedicated set of snow tires and rims, or at least invest in a set of all-seasons to run year round with your existing rims.
