R57 My Mini Dealer Rocks!!!!
My Mini Dealer Rocks!!!!
I purchased a 2010 Mini Cs Convertible from a small non mini dealership with 52,232 on the speedo about a month ago and along with that I purchased a 5/100,000 warranty pretty much covers everything. I get in my car a couple of days ago and the engine light is on, of course because I am obsessive about my cars I have been reading everything possible that can go wrong, all the solutions given did not work so Long story short, I bring my car into the dealership about 10 miles from my house and I half feel like I'm going to get raped because of everything I've read. I also was prepared to bring the car to an independent if I was in need. I knew there were some issues with this car specifically considering the carbon build up blah blah blah.
So the service guy comes back and tells me they opened the valve cover and as expected it is gunked up so he tells me they can do the walnut blast and it will cost 325 I thought Whoa that is pretty good ..I had heard of a lot of guys having theirs done for 800 or more so I said get in there and do it...lol...along with a few other things they were doing...after 4 hours of sitting there they are finally done and I'm thinking to myself uh oh this is gonna be a heavy labor charge...but nope everything said and done was 360....but the best part is they changed the heat shield for the turbo... they changed my intake manifold to the new improved cold climate one(which I was gonna buy and have my indy put in) they also updated my software and did an injection cleaning. I paid said thank you very much and drove home with a new car(pretty much) It runs great!!!!
My point is I was afraid that I was gonna get hosed and they really did a great job for very little. I don't know If I can mention their name here but It is Mini OF Warwick and My service guy was Cory Blue. I think I am going to be a very happy camper now. The cost would have been zero but I paid out of pocket for the blast because I wasn't sure my warranty would cover it and rather than having them say no I just paid. But anyone in or near RI ..they are a pretty great dealership.

:thumbsup :

Well think about it...would your warranty cover walnut blasting of valves...it may be a proven technique of solving the problem but that is not how the warranty service will see it hence they give you a break down of everything they do cover .
So yes I do have a good coverage but there is always a grey area and being 54 I can tell you from experience, there is a lot of that when you purchase warranties!!
