I'm getting the burned out light bulb indicator on my dash but I can't find any bulb that's out. I had this happen last year and the dealer changed a part and all was well. Is this a common problem that I should expect? Anybody else having this happening to theirs?
I double checked the license plate light and found that both of them are OK. Did a walk around and couldn't find the culprit.
What I have noticed is that the indicator doesn't come on all the time. I drove home from work yesterday (45 miles) and the light was not on. This morning is was on all the way to work. Over the weekend it was not on at the beginning of my drive to Cleveland, but after about a half hour it came on. Sounds like a loose wire or circuit board to me. Hope it doesn't have anything to do with the raccoon that I hit a month or so ago. It took a few weeks for the light to first come on after the accident.
So, I had my wife stand behind (and off to the left a bit) my car to see if the backup lights come on. Found out that neither the backup or brake light come on in the 3 bulb unit in the rear bumper. Took it apart and all the bulbs were good but no power was getting to the bulbs. Took the connector apart and found one of the prongs burned out. Not sure how well it shows in the photo, but hopefully this will help someone else out in the future.
Thanks this has been driving me nuts for the past few weeks... the warning light comes on then goes away for no apparent reason. I'll see if it is the same connector.
Deja Vu
It's at it again.
I had the problem fixed by the dealer before the warranty expired, but now at 43K it's on me. I took it apart today and found 2 spliced wires that the Mini dealer repaired but it looks like they never replaced the long black plastic piece nor the connector. Here's a photo of what I need. It has part # OLSA 03.455.04.0 on it and it houses the 2 backup lights and the brake light. I also need the connector plug that goes into it to properly repair the situation. If the price is too high, I'll bet I could solder a wire to the inside and feed it through a small hole and splice.
That's the part I needed. I ended up repairing mine because the 4 prong connector was fried and I could not find a replacement. When I called you (ECS) the rep told me that he could only find a 3 prong connector. I wouldn't mind fixing mine the proper way if you have a connector available now.
Thanks
Bill
Hello. I need the three bulb bar as well. And possible the switch that plugs into it as well cause I'm worried the prongs broke off in the switch. Is the switch available somewhere ? The one that has wires and plugs into the bar??
Thank you
