2010 jcw cabrio door popping noise

Today when opening my driver side door all the way, I heard two distinct and loud popping noises. First one happens about halfway open, the second about 75% of the way.

No idea what material it sounds like, it's almost dampened...if that makes any sense. Thoughts?

I think door has two detents and maybe need likes at. Could be just a lube issue. Does it do it

This happened on my 2009 r56. Check the door brake attach point at the car body. Mine had a bolt that was loose and it made a noise like you are describing. All it took is tightening with a torx bit if it is in fact loose, you may see the attach plate quickly shift at the stop points... But YMMV

Check the torx bolts on the door brake to make sure its secure and lube the hinges #3 and #2 and also the door brake. If you stiil have noise the door brake might need replaced.

Front Door Brake - Used on the front door both passenger and driver side.

Mounts to the door jam body and the door frame.

Thanks
