any hints on removing roll bar

I want to get the chrome part painted. Any hints on how to remove THESE

Have a look at the parts view on realoem.com. It looks like once you remove the center cover, you can get to the rest of things...

thanks FS, but I got that far and it still doesn't want to come off. Hopefully someone else wil post up or I off to the dealership tomorrow for some advice
