R57 On The Fence
On The Fence
Hey folks...looking to pull the trigger on a new "left over" '10 convertible, but still mulling a few things over. Have done a LOT of reading on here, and other sites, and am a bit disconcerted over all the issues that seem to plague the convertible's top system. I've owned a number of convertibles, including currently a Shelby GT500, and they've all been flawless in operation. So I'm looking to possibly add another 'vert so she-who-must-be-catered-to will stop taking mine LOL. But again, all these posts I'm reading about the Mini's top problems are giving me some pause. So a couple questions if I may, regarding the convertible in particular, that may force me off that fence - one way or another
.
One thing I haven't been able to nail down is - has Mini done any on the fly upgrading to the known problems with it's top? ie are '10 build models "improved" over '09's?
Year round driving - which whatever we buy next will have to be used for, including winter weather and all that comes with it. Any issues regarding snowy climates? Winter tires, of course, would be installed.
The various Mini "packages", standard equipement, and stand alone options are nothing short of mesmerizing, with it seems completely different compilations for different countries. FWIW the specific car we're considering has the following optional packages:
- style
- sport
- automatic/steptronic
- Harmon/Kardon
- media connect
Standard equipment, on Canadian models, which seem(?) to be optional in the U.S.?
- xenons, heated seat/mirrors etc (cold weather package south of the border?), multi-function steering wheel, & bluetooth. Car is Pepper white with black letherette interior and all seaon run flats.
There is a nice cash discount on the car and it includes 3 years scheduled maintenance as dealer incentives to move out there remaining 2010's.
Just rambling, trying to convince myself to go ahead and get it...so feel free to ramble away in return - good or bad
