Initial R57 Programming

When I finally pickup my new R57, what can I have the dealer custom program the car for me?
I had this type of optional programming on my BMWs. Auto Door Locks, DRL, Key Operation, etc...

Does anyone have a written down information for various options?

Thank you in advance for your help.

D.J.

On the newer cars...

a bunch of this can be set-up via the instrument cluster. Check the owners manual.

Thanks for the reply Dr Obnxs

I have an R57 on order and I'm just trying to do my homework.
If all those optional configs are accessible via intrument cluster and does not require a dealer visit, then it's awesome.
I just wanted to make sure that there are no settings that I can NOT change on my own, as in case of BMWs.

Oh, there probably are...

but I don't know what they are! But there are things you can change on the 2nd gen with the button on the turn signal stalk that required a dealer visit on the fist gen Minis... And some of them are key fob dependant. They can be one way for one key, and another way for the other key.

ah~ I understand, Dr Obnxs. Thanks for your input.

Does anyone know (or perhaps have a list) what functions are programmable at the dealer?

Go to MINIusa.com and enter the owner's lounge. You can access the owner's manual there. All selectable items on my '09 MCS convertible can be selected without the dealer being involved. On my previous 3 series BMW items such as driving lights etc. had to be programmed into the key by the dealer but that is not the case with the MINI. It has "do it yourself" programability.

You could study the Manual for your MINI if it were listed on MINIUSA.com, sadly it hasn't benn listed yet. But you can go and look at the Manual for an '09 and get ideas about what functions you want to personalize.

Good Luck and Welcome to the NAMily!!

You dealer will probably ask you (about 2-3 days before taking delivery) how you want everything set up. Then when they get the car, they will program it how you want, all the way down to the radio resets.
