I don't believe that they don't build vert's in the winter. As the southern hemisphere gets warm weather in our winter. So, why would they only produce them in our summer months.

I agree with Jeremy, plus you should have been given a Production #, and a Week Build. While the Week Build can move up and down, depending on production cycle changes, for the most part they shouldn't. My 2009 S Convertible was a Week 7 build, but then got pushed to a Week 10 build. The dealer didn't know that, but when I called Min's 1-888 number they provided me with the new Week Build number. I was glad someone had the details.

I can't imagine getting a special order car in only a month, convertible or not. I ordered my Clubby in January last year - it was already assigned to that dealer and in the color and equipment I wanted, I just added a couple more options and body colored roof. Still took 6 weeks and it already had a production date in the schedule before I ordered it.

I'd be surprised if they build all the models concurrently, I'd think they'd do runs of one model at a time.....

I know that doesn't make the wait any easier, but anything worth having, right?

If your car didn't get built before Christmas, you can assume an extra delay of at least two weeks for the factory holiday shutdown.

The site still shows On Order so i will keep my 2004 MINI company for a few more weeks. I was just hoping to get it before anything else goes wrong with my 04 MINI.

They do build all models concurrently, and photos of the factory show a random mix of models coming down the line. There are even photos of the R52 (1st gen) and R56 mixed together on the same line when they were in production at the same time. It's been publicized as an advanced feature of the MINI factory that they build individually spec'ed cars rather than queue up similar batches.

Well after a long wait, my new MINI has arrived at the dealership and is going through the final stages and the JCW aero kit install. Now I just have to hop they do not offer me too much less for my MINI 2004 trade in as what they originally said when I purchased the car in the first week of December.
