Good Ship Turandot

Sails from Southampton on April 23.
Into Brunswick, GA on May 2 for you east coast guys.
Panama canal on May 6 and...
Port Hueneme California on May 14th.

All goes well and I could have the car by... the 21st? Before Memorial Day weekend would be awesome.

Anybody else scheduled for this ship?

Ah, the Turandot brought me my first new BMW back in 2002 after I did European Delivery for a 325xit. Hope you can endure the wait for your MINI. It's been torture waiting and mine finally arrived at the dealership last night.

WooHoo! Me too!

No hurricanes please...

I think they should stop in Hueneme first, THEN stop in GA on the way back!

Looks like it's running a day behind schedule. Scheduled for 5/3 in Georgia, 5/15 for LA. Boo.

Stopped by the dealer yesterday and was told about five days to clear customs/get car. 20th optimist, 25th realist, 30th as the start to get really impatient date...

Nope. That site tracks by ships that report weather. So I guess when it left GA, it stopped reporting. Tried the other site www.aislive.com but can't find it either. It should be staging at the Panama canal today/tomorrow. You can see the update at http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppSche...oyageSearch.do It will turn Red when it leaves there.

Still looks like port in Oxnard by 5/15.

Just found it. It's staged on Atlantic side of Panama canal. Should be through today. (well that was interesting, your image didn't show first time around for me!)

According to Wallenius Wilhelmsen's website, the Turandot has set sail from Manzanillo, Panama. However the AIS website still has it staging outside the locks....the anxiety is starting to get to me.

Unresolved marital/ownership issues?

Don't know how quickly these things are reflected online, but the 2wglobal site clicked off Manzanillo near 3pm PDT. Should take 8 or so hours to get through the canal. We should be real close to the right ocean!

Hopefully it's just that the Ais website is a day behind and not that the WW site is not ahead!

Well the Turandot is through the canal but now it seems impossible to track it. AIS doesn't have coverage, neither does Sailwx.com. Oh well, guess we'll have to go by the WW dates and hope for the best!

Ho Hum... Anyone within easy reach of Hueneme?

Would be a hoot to have a photo of Turandot in port, unloading our MINIs. Wish they'd turn the tracking thingy back on! If you get on Google Earth you can easily see the VDC.

Hoping the stay at the VDC is a short one!

Me too!

My MCS auto LiB/W w/ bonnet stripes is on the Turandot as well. I test drove a MC auto and it was good fun, but decided to go MCS just because. btw... what production are we? 16, 17? Seems that the ship is no longer sending updates of its location. I loved tracking that dot crossing the Atlantic. Oh well. I will be happy with delivery any day before Memorial Day weekend.

Has anyone gotten a call from their MA? Mine called this weekend and said the car should be processed by the 17th. He said it usually takes about 5 days to get the car to AZ, so I hopefully by the 23rd I can be driving.

I wouldn't expect anything from my MA until the car is scheduled for transport to the dealer. Went to 2wglobal and typed in the booking number that shows up when I type in my VIN. The booking number that has my car in it is GBSOU515402 are all of you the same number?

Enter this number in the Track by Booking Number and it will show 159 VINs destined for Port Hueneme from Southhampton.

If anyone else has a different booking number on voyage ED716-TUR, then there will be more than 159 MINI's on board, hence a longer processing time at the VDC. If this is the one and only MINI booking, then it seems 159 cars ought to be fairly straightforward to get onto trucks (assuming 10-12 per truck, that's 13-16 full trucks).

Any of you have booking numbers different from GBSOU515402?
