Loose CV Joint from factory

I spotted a growing patch of oil (1' x 3') under my R65 MCS 3-days after receiving it, so took it to the dealer and they immediately noticed that left CV joint connecting to the transmission was disconnected, pulled out of where it is supposed to seat. They fixed it quickly, topped off the transmission and I was on my way inside an hour. They said it was likely that way from the factory.

I don't expect this to be a common problem, a fluke most likely, but wanted to share it with this R56 family.

Thanks for sharing! I'm glad it was a minor issue and quickly worked out. I will be looking out for anything like this when I test drive the car upon delivery just in case.

Sorry that happened to you.
I have seen it happen with a Honda, the keeper didn't expand when it was seated. The system Honda used at the time was basically a snap ring that you compressed as you slid it into the tranny. Once seated it snapped back to size and locked it in place.
Put it in and out like three times trying to get it to seat. Gave up and ordered a new one. Replacement worked like a charm.
Glad they were able to repair yours so quickly.
