Sweet!! That's awesome that they started production earlier than ya thought! When I got mine they pushed me into a cancelled BMW slot (havent talked to my MA or anything but from what the OL said about my car, that's what it was).

Oxygen Blue is even prettier than the pictures and the paint examples at the dealership, you made the right choice!!

An update on me and Dr. Horrible. We're doing great, I love him just as much as the day I brought him home, and even more than the day I ordered him!
I used the voice activation thing for my bluetooth. Mini Phone Home. Love it love it!!!

I have a lead foot so I kinda need to be careful about going over 4000RPMS until the break in period is over. I'm getting antsy waiting for the weekend when I can really take him out for the first time and give him some room to run!!

Hey CooperDreams, Congratulations! I had to sit myself down when I heard my MINI (well, Teds MINI) went into production. I had waited about two months by that time and it hadn't really seemed real until then. But Production?? Oh my, then it was real and would only be a matter of weeks. Several folks on these MINI sites suggest you get all your chores done so you have time to Motor when your MINI arrives. They're right!

Rainforest Elf, I'm looking forward to your weekend. You and Dr. Horrible have a blast, but watch that leadfoot!

tedswoods...you are so right. I have only been waiting a month, a very long month I might add, but I think I am more excited about the car now than when my husband first told me about the order.

I have been prepping my kids for the big day and telling them how nice and cozy we will all be! They are just as psyched as I am!

Rainforest, Dr. Horrible looks awesome! Enjoy him!

Well, I thought I'd bump this thread (it was on the SECOND page ) with some pictures I just uploaded of our Tennessee trip.

Before we left

Dropping off Harley at my parents' house (I think that answers wannab's question ... she will sleep in my wife's lap while driving the MINI, so she's OK with riding, though.)

On top of Signal Mountain

Yep... it was a lot of fun. Plus, we put 1,350 miles on the MINI in the first 4 days of ownership, so the "break in" went quickly

Ha... nice! Well, it's definitely unique!

Thanks, Anna.

I bet 1.25" is noticeable... but if they're new springs, they often take a little while to "settle" to their final height... which leads to my next question, what springs did you use?

Oh, and post up some pics

yeah the springs are used but i don't know how long the guy had them on his car. when i look at my car, i can def notice a difference. you know how the back end is higher than the front? well now the wheels are tucked nicely in.

the springs are Mach V. the ride feels about the same to me. railroad tracks are a little rough, but that's to be expected.

i'll post pics after i wash it!

next mod: 17 or 18" wheels!!

Well, I guess they should be pretty much settled then

Sounds like they've eliminated a notable amount of wheel gap and not hurt the ride much, so that's good.

What wheels are you considering?

i honestly can't make up my mind. i started out liking exel tz-10 wheels in silver. now i'm changed my mind to black. there are some rota wheels i like and some konig wheels. they are both black. but i'm also considering Y-spokes in silver. not sure if i'd like them in black because it might just fade into the background. dilemma! the good news is that my boyfriend said he'd buy me the wheels if i buy the tires

Blaine--nice pics of you new MINI. Sound like you had fun--definitely the way to start your new relationship with your MINI (poor Harley didn't get to go!). By the way, what's all that yellow and green stuff in your pictures? All we've got is white and gray...has been for weeks!

minianna, is the lowered MINI something you'd expect to feel in the ride? (I would think yes, but you're saying no). So is it like the bulldog with the legs cut off (so to speak, you know what I mean)? I still vote for the black wheels; I like the way they tie the black roof and stripes together. Good luck with your decision--look forward to the pics!

i'm not sure what you mean about the ride. i was afraid that the lowering springs would really affect the ride since i am still using stock shocks. i think if i had gone with a more severe drop, it would def change the ride quality. at the moment, i really only get that pit in my stomach when i go over railroad tracks and a few key spots in waco where the roads are already rough.

i'm pretty sure i will decide on black

As for the ride, I wondered if it would lower your center of gravity, hugging the road even better than stock.

As for the wheels, I think they'll look great!

Soooooooo Dr. Horrible and I went out on Saturday on our first real motoring trip, and man was it fun! I took some pictures of Dr. Horrible outside of the garage and out in the elements!!!

It was a beautiful Oregon day! Not too cold, and foggy as can be. My best friend and I went up to a cemetery on a windy road which was suuuuper fun to drive on. We stopped to take some pictures.

He looks good next to a mini doesnt he? He's already talking about getting his own. He'll be a Chili Red kinda man, or so he says. Though he kept calling Dr. Horrible "our Mini" Oh really?

Hi, I'm little Red Riding Hood, and this is my car, Dr. Horrible.

So while we were motoring around Portland we saw no less than 5 Minis. We were so excited to try the wave, and we waved enthusiastically at everyone we passed but... NO ONE WAVED BACK!!! What gives!!! Some of them even looked right at us so it's not like they couldn't see us!!!!

But all in all, it was a great day.

Dr. Horrible is looking good!

I've only had one person wave back to me, but I think it may have been the only person who saw me... a Checkmate R53 Cooper S.

Great pics Rainforest Elf! Dr. Horrible looks great out in the great PNW fog! Now when you say you "my best friend and I went up to a cemetary...", do you mean the good Dr. or that other Chili Red dude? I do think your Little Red Riding outfit compliments Dr. H quite nicely!

As for the wave, it happens, and it doesn't. I was on the NY Thruway a few weeks ago and saw a beautiful BRG MINI cominng up behind me. Saw it approaching closer and closer. I know they had to have seen me, especially when they passed me, but no wave, no acknowledgement of any kind. I guess they just don't get it (or my MINI was so dirty they snubbed me--hey what can I say, it's winter in NY!!).

Actually, if I took another one now I wouldn't have to white it out. The snow is almost to the top of the bumper!
It's dark and cold, but I'll try to take another from outside in the morning. Hopefully it'll have stopped by then!

wannab, can't remember; did you get snow tires?

tedscar does pretty well in snow with a set of (1 year used) Biizzak Revos, but next year, I'll be getting the Nokian Hakkapelittas, probably these: http://www.nokiantires.com/tyre?id=1...akkapeliitta+R. I've read great things about 'em. I drive a lot for my job. Probably 80% is interstate, but the other 20% is back roads (including my own).

Anyway, hope you and your MINI (and your dogs, of course) have many good MINI adventures in that snow!

So... did it stop, yet?

Here in FL, I actually had the little "Snowflake" pop up yesterday morning... 37* !!!

Well, I finally got a change to take a few non-impromptu pictures of "Toadette", so I thought I'd post a few :
