Price reduction

I was in the configurator and noticed the MFSW is now $350.00. Wasn't it $550.00?. Did I see it correctly. This is a nice discount if true. Maybe the sales are down in general and more discounts on the way. Maybe $500.00 off MSRP and free mats. One can only hope.

I noticed that too, amazonracer. Since my car is still on order and not yet scheduled for production, I'm hoping that I'll get the new pricing for my MFSW...I'll see what the dealer has to say about that.

That seems like a slippery slope for the dealers. I'm supposed to pick my ordered car up next week. Why wouldn't I try to renegotiate my MFSW? At what point do I actually own the car? If I don't really own it yet and the price changes, can't I get the new price? I'll have to review the actual language in the agreement I signed.

I'm probably just dreaming that this is possible...

I don't see why you shouldn't try to get the $200 knocked off the price of the car (or at the very least, to get some dealer accessories thrown in).

The $350 price came about when they started putting the 3 spoke leather steering wheel in them as standard instead of the 2 spoke. So now you are only paying to have the buttons - not paying for the three spoke and the buttons as before.

I looked into how the lower price for MFSW would change my spec, but it doesn't because I order it as part of the premium package. I may have skipped the package if the MFSW had been that much cheaper, but I didn't. The package price remains the same so my car price does too. At least they threw in mats.

I'll be getting my car in a day or two and my MA says that because I ordered the MFSW outside of a package the new price should be reflected in my order. I hope he's right, every little bit helps.

I didn't negotiate mats when I ordered. But asked for them this week when I called to check on the order. My MA said they usually sell them for $100 (or whatever they cost), but he could ask his manager about it. A second later in the conversation he said he didn't think it would be a problem. My impression is that they're supposed to make it feel like they're doing me a favor, but they basically say yes when people ask.

When I initially called this dealer to ask a bunch of questions, they said that they're trying to be the best MINI dealer in the country. I intend to remind them of that quote if anything doesn't reach that standard.

You can call me silly or foolish, but I don't ask for freebees. Now if the dealership throws something in for free... I won't complain.

They should make the MFSW standard. A 20+ thousand dollar car should have cruise standard.

I picked up my car on April 9, and the dealer gave me the $200 discount. I didn't even need to ask for it.
