Finally test drove a R56 MCS today.. one quick question

One quick question for the owners.

From 1st gear, upon car leaving from stop, I stepped on the throttle
roughly 85%... speed/engine seem to pause a bit at low rpm then revs
up. Is that the turbo lag I felt? 2nd and 3rd gear I didnt experience such
pause but maybe rpm get that low with those gears.

Oh ya, sport button makes a big difference. I drove off the lot with it on
turn it off a bit over halfway. Almost stall the car from stop with it off. :(

it might be that drive by wire thing in these new cars. step on the gas and it hesitates until the gas is shot into the engine or something like that??

There is some delay in the trottle responce with the sport button "off". Turn it on and there's some noticable difference.

Warm the car up a bit, too... as suggested.

When my MINI is in non-sport mode, there is a little lag. If you blip the throttle before easing out the clutch, the lag goes away. Putting the car in sport mode makes a huge difference! No lag at all, and tighter steering as well.
