StatusPortTime(dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm)Looks like all the MINI's on the Figaro were discharged at same time on Easter. My MA says no further info, but normally stay at VDC 2-4 days before being released to carrier for transport to dealer. OK, time to get more excited with anticipation. Our babies are on American soil.

ASK MINI says my vehicle is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel. It actually (I hope) left the port 3 weeks ago and arrived in CA 2 days ago! I'll call and talk to a person when they open the phone lines in an hour to make sure it's not still stuck in Southampton.
Just talked to my MA who said I should not ecpect it for at least another 10 days or more because it will be stuck in customs there!!! I cannot beleive it takes 10 days to clear customs. May be he does not know the difference between VDC and customs. Anyhow, he said he will call me when the car is washed and ready to go at the dealership. In other words, do not call me, I will call you.
ASK MINI still says my car arrived in Southampton on Sat April 7 and is awaiting a shipping vessel. I think they coded incorrectly which is causing this instead of at VDC. Hope their quality of manufacture is somewhat better than their quality of tracking...they're off by a couple oceans.
Saw my MA today. according to him, my car was loaded on a carrier today. He said we can probably shoot for Sunday for pick up. Seems all too good to be true....a little quick, no?

If you know it's at the VDC, then it's not going to be much longer before it arrives at your dealer. My car unloaded last week from the Maersk Wind, yet my MA says it's going to be April 20th to 25th before I'll be able to pick it up.
I'd like to have it sooner, but I've had a deposit on file since October. A few more days or a couple of weeks isn't going to make that much of a difference. Just be patient.
Chopperace, give your dealership a call. Mine told me yesterday their info shows it arrived at VDC on Sat April 7 and is scheduled to be released to the carrier (for transport to the dealership) April 15 or 16. Those dates could change depending on how quickly it gets processed and how busy the VDC is, but at least we know it's in the final stages and will be at the dealer before long. Good luck with yours - let us know what you find out.
my MA said that when it gets off the truck, he'll have it ready for me in a couple of hours. (i can't fully believe this because there have got to plenty of other customers that are getting that same line and they all cant be prepped in that amount of time...)
he said that they do a set of their own quality control testing. They also clean the car and such. If your MA wants to he can basically "force feed" the car to the people who run these last tests to ensure that the car is ready for pick up faster.
and it looks like Owners Lounge finally updated!

I just received a call from my MA indicating that my Mini has arrived at the dealership and will be ready for pickup within a couple of hours. The same guy yesterday told me that it takes 10 days for it to show up! The factory forgot to put the bonnet stripes in and they are doing it now at the dealers. Wow!
I insured this one on Geico and for only $4 a month got extended mechanical breakdown warranty with $250 deductible for 7 years or 100,000 miles. It includes windshield replacement for $50 flat. Having seen the threads on chipped glass, I think $4 for glass only was worthed. I have my other cars with another insurance company, but I will probably switch them over too.

does anyone know if you can track your car at the vdc??
