R56 Gas tank capacity question

Well, if Mr EPA likes, say, 5% capacity for expansion so the fuel doesn't overflow in to the vapour canister, and the engineers want .5 gallons left to cool the pump, that would be around 14.5.
I've wondered about this from my first fill up in late June, but forget to search the forum for info. I definitely have more than 10.6 gal capacity. I've had 2 'pieces of pie' left on my gauge, and still fit 12 gal or so in there!
I would even guess that it is 13.6 Plus reserve, seems like I remember fitting almost 14 gal one time, and it wasn't on empty.. i'll pay closer attn and see.
Sort of a side note. I have to hold the pump just right, or it kicks back on me, anyone have this problem. It's just a minor inconvenience.. but maybe there is a 'trick' ?

The gas tank is 10.6 gallons. 10.6 imperial gallons, which is over 13 US gallons. This is another reason why Euro people always report better gas mileage than US people. Because the imperial gallon is approximately 25% more therefore the gas mileage is about 25% more that the US gas mileage.

There are two tanks. Confusion is that Europe and the manual say the MC gets the smaller one, MCS the larger, but apparently US R56 MC and MCS get the same larger 13.2 tank. That's like "nominal capacity". Doesn't include "inaccesible" fuel on the bottom of the tank, air expansion room at the top, hoses, etc. So you probably can squeeze more than that in there.
I have a feeling there is a little "reserve" left in the 13.2 to make sure people don't habitually run the tank too low, so that there's always sufficient fuel in the tank splashing around to keep the fuel motor and pump cooler.
