Future GP's?

Are there plans for future GP's? Will they have aturbo or a super charger? I just watched a video of a private test drive of the new R56. The interior looked great but it was missing the SC whine. Any one know of the future GP power plant?

If I had to guess they will be based off the new turbo engine.

After this year the supercharger is history. The new MINI engine should have a long life. This is year ONE. The GP was a one off. Whether this is repeated at the end of the R56s life is anybodys guess.

It will be interesting to see if the GP (which I am a huge fan of) appreciates in value over the years. If it becomes very desirable maybe Mini would make a new version based on the current model.

They are already working on various stages of the "Works" cars for 2008, according to Motoringfile. Wouldn't surprise me to see a GP/Spec racer version come out of that development.

i think it's fair to expect a similar type of special edition high performance model somewhere along the line. since r56 just came out, probably won't see something like that anytime soon, tho

It's my guess that pristine/non moded GPs will fair well in the market.
