For Those On Golden Fan

For those travelling aboard Golden Fan, this update in from K-Line:

"Quick, Courtney (KAM.RIC)" to me, KAM
9:42 am (1 minute ago)
Hello Jeff,

Current ETA into Charleston is 3/29 at 8am. Have a good day."

Nice and early... I like it. Here's hoping it stays true.

I attached a map of Atlantic wave heights and the key. I hope the Golden Fan is past that Red/Yellow spot by now!! (It is supposed to get into Baltimore tomorrow).

I'm on the Maersk Wind and it scheduled to be going through the Panama Canal today. Gotta' keep my eyes peeled on the AIS live (and figure out something to do until it gets in my hands the 2nd week of April).

Mine's been released to a carrier as well, so it should make it to the dealership in the next couple of days. I guess another day or two to get everything ready and then it'll be mine!!

Can't wait......

The Maersk Wind is on it's approach to the canal right now, I'll be watching the canal webcam to see if I can spot it there. But it may be too dark to see it all the way through though.

Are you getting anything put on at the dealer?

I can't decide between the ipod adapter or just wait for the 6 disk changer. my MA said the ipod adapter was $225 installed. Wish I could have both.

Great eye! I've been looking for it all day.

I'm guessing it will be too dark for sure - but I'll take it. The sooner it gets here the better.

Are any of you aboard the Courage? I can't find that sucker on AISlive. I spotted it when it entered and then left the area of the Port of Southampton but once it got out to sea, it disappeared... I've tried searching for it by name and I don't know it's call sign so I guess I'll have to wait until 4/2/07 until it enters the port at NY/NJ

Try WDC6907 as the call sign; not sure, but it seems like it could be.

Maersk Wind is in the Panama Canal Miraflores Locks

I named the picture wrong, but I just grabbed this image live from the Panama Canal as the Maersk Wind is making its way through the Miraflores locks.

Basil is "this close" to the Pacific Ocean.

Catch it live right now at http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html

The Golden Fan is now scheduled to get into Charleston SC at 4:30am on 3/31, about a day behind schedule. Guess it DID catch those waves. :(

I'm not so hopeful about getting my car during my break next week... bummer. However, it's still looking to get in earlier than the mid-April I'd figured on, but not by much!

Picked up tonight - love it!

Just wanted to post a quick pic....more to follow, probably on the weekend.

No hassles at all with the delivery - Checkered Flag, Virginia Beach were first rate. Looking forward to the drive to work tomorrow and then more miles on the weekend...

Here She Comes

And here comes the Golden Fan, down from Baltimore... next stop: Charleston!

My MA says it's realistic to expect my car to be in my hands by early the week after next. He said it should get through the SC VDC in only a day or two!

If the car gets in on Saturday, it won't be processed until Monday, and then it's a matter of getting a truck for it. Not long now, can't wait... but I've gotten used to it so I will.

Thanks. Yeah, I feel bad for you guys on the west coast. I still can't believe the turnaround time on my MINI - ordered 3/2/07 ---> delivered 3/29/07. Not even 4 weeks.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Steve

That east coast time is great. Mine is currently finishing up a boat ride that takes 22 days all by itself.

Still, mine will be about 6 weeks from order to delivery. Sadly, I only ordered about a month ago so a little more to wait.

*tick tick tick*

Go faster, clock!

My car has been at the dealer for over a day and he told me I have to wait till Monday to pick it up.

They are all backed up with how long it takes to program the cars. He told me if I install the driving lights myself I still have to bring my car in for them to program them into the system! Same thing with the ipod adapter, it takes 3+ hours for it to program.

The other thing they told me is it takes some reading and playing with the nav system to get it set up. There is learning how the idrive works and teaching it the voice recognition settings. He said the nav is so cool he could not believe it. They were all playing with it and having too much fun. The blue tooth adapter is very cool too.

So he tells me all this and still I have to wait three more days. :impatient

Cheers
Dave

Here comes the Maersk Wind

The Maersk Wind is scheduled to dock in LA today. Here it is sailing past San Diego. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any AIS info for Port Hueneme so we can't see it close up. Still, I didn't think this day would ever arrive.

Cymrusteve,
So, as a Week 11 customer, can you let us know a couple of things?

1. does your storage area open?
2. did you get a tool kit (jack, etc) or did the dealer have to take it from another car?
3. sunroof noise (i didnt even check if you have one)
4. panel gaps?
5. did you get all those "nets" that are shown in many pics...the ones in the back?
