OK, given the status of waiting for my car to ship across the sea, a photo series like this is enough to terrify you. Be warned, this is not easy to see.

Lucky that it happened at the dock.!!

 

Only about 300 cars — Fiats — were damaged in the accident at Antwerp. The mishap was caused by placing one too many bags of diamonds aboard.

 

I got bumped to week 13 , but a nasty couple of hours at the dealership and a phone call to BMW AG in Munich moved me up to Week 12

I did get to see the BMW "extranet" to confirm my production week.

 

In some of the pics it looks like some collection of matchbox or hotwheels cars

On a better note I just got off of the phone with 866-ask-mini and the guy told me the car was going into the paint shop right now!

 

Peppy finished in the paintshop and is currently in assembly! this is all too exciting!

 

Mine was finished yesterday and is awaiting being transported to Southampton.

My VIN draws a blank on the WW cargo tracking web site though. Maybe it will be shipped by a different company??

 

When is the next WW boat out of Southampton? Your vin will show up a day or two before the boat sales.

Looks like OTELLO could be the one!

 

Sweet. The next WW boat from Southampton to Charleston is Liberty on 3/16, but a K-Line gets in before that, on the 15th. Arrives SC the 25th.

K-Line will get me there 5 days faster than WW. Go K-Line!!

However, if all else fails, there's ANOTHER K-Line coming the 16, getting in to SC the 29th, and then the WW Liberty leaves the 16th also, getting in the 30th to SC.

Here's hoping Lil' Blue will be in sometime in the first couple weeks of April! Gotta get a JCW Aero Kit installed before it gets shipped down to FL first, though!

By the way, my VIN still doesn't show up on WW's site, and no one seems to know how it will be shipped out. I think it just depends on if they have a boatful when the boat arrives, they ship 'em all. I'm guessing mine will go on the next one. It missed the Patriot on the 9th by just a few VIN numbers!

 

CAP'N CHRUNCH didn't you place your order way back in October? Did you have to reorder?

 

Nope! I came very close but I never placed the order for the 06.

I did the same thing. I was just about the order an 06 but decided to wait until the 07's came out before deciding.

 

What was the biggest reason you decided to wait?

 

The Maersk Wind is still adding cars to its manifest. Mine showed up this morning as being booked for that voyage. Hopefully, it will make it aboard and not get waitlisted when the Wind arrives at Southampton tomorrow. I hope Basil and Mcarlo's car will be aboard, too.

 

I just checked the WW site this morning and Basil is booked on the Maersk Wind!

I was hoping, but I thought there was no way at all he'd make it on that one. I'm so excited he should be setting sail today. Now I have to figure out how to track the actual ship because I am just that sad.

 

I've checked once this morning, still nothing. I'll keep looking, if you two got on then there's still hope for me.

 

I just checked the WW site and mine's been booked on the Maersk Teal which is supposed to leave Southampton today! This must have been updated in the last couple of hours - it wasn't like that when I left for work this morning.

Not quite sure how they're managing to move so fast on this. I only built and ordered it at the Dealership on March 2nd - 12 days later and it's on it's way......

So, now it's a 9 day countdown until it arrives in New York. I just hope it gets loaded on the Maersk in time

 

Woohoo, I'm riding with you guys on the MAERSK WIND.

 

If I search by booking number on the WW site there are 199 vehicles "received at terminal". mine was one of the last to arrive - some have been there since March 7th.

 

Maersk Wind update:

For those of you on the Maersk Wind, it is currently docked in Belgium and is now scheduled to be leaving Southampton tomorrow. It's arrival date in California is April 4th.

I was able to locate the ship in Zeebrugge.

Don't suppose you noticed the MAERSK TEAL on AISLive.com? I can't find it anywhere....

 

So, I have a VIN now and Ask Mini said that it started production on the 10th. Wierd thing is, they said that the last update was the body shop.....

 

According to AISLive it's in the port in Southampton.
