I actually watched this on TV. It was the host reading that article to the press videos. Very lame. Not to mention inaccuracies like this one:

"The revised combo of front McPherson struts, multi-link rear, and run-flat tires, results in a less harsh ride, although with the Sport Package it's still quite stiff. For best ride comfort the almost too soft Cooper will appeal more."

They come with the same suspension.

I'm very glad they liked it although I have come to expect very little from Motorweek.

While that may be....

a taller tire will have the same percieved effect. There's more to ride than springs and shocks.

My wife an I were both lamenting the color scheme evolution at Mini

The dark blues are gone, the supid burnt orange stays (or stayed) for a while. The Velvet red was one or two model years. And the purple just stayed long enough for it to be missed when gone!

We were looking at other (gasp) cars recently. The wife wants something other than our MDX for commuting and short trips with few kids. We were looking at the Honda Civics and Accords.

Well, she was interested in a hybrid, but NONE OF THE BRIGHT COLORS are available for it! No Blue, no red, just a bunch or boring whites, greys and browns. Ug!

Same thing with Audi Allroads. I was very interested in one in 01 when we ended up with the MDX, but no good colors. Silver, grey, brown or some ugly sage green!

for some reason, the Color Gurus have said that the orange is going to come on strong, and for the last four years they've said it, and I still throw up in my mouth a bit every time I see it, indepedant of brand! The color gurus are wrong, and we're stuck with the consiquences.....

I guess it'll be Chili Red again for me if I get a Mini! (Unless they bring back the dark blues) Saves $450 in metallic paint charges too!

Matt

I thought it was a pretty weak review. They mention the larger dimensions very casually, as if it's the most natural thing in the world. Not with this car it isn't (or shouldn't be).

I'm glad someone else felt this way.

Except for a couple of bland comments, the whole review felt like a watered down press release.

Yep.

I read the review then watched the show a few hours later and it was dejavu. I could recite what he was about to say.

Back to the Future!

No need to watch the show. More like an infomercial.

Well they did say

"cute, litte cult car"

and called the dash "garish"

That's about as harsh as they ever get with any car ... garish.
