R56 R56 MCS Tool Kit missing parts
honestly to rotate tires and change tires at home you should really invest in a nice floor jack. It is much much safer than using any sort of factory "scissor" jack.
Obviously people are not going to carry around a floor jack in the trunk of there car if they ditch the runflats, then you might want to think about getting a scissor jack. Many jacks from other manufactures would work with the car. I would get your new car... head down to a local junk yard and score a jack out of a dodge or honda for 10 bucks... or if that isn't atractive... swallow your pride and purchase the factory jack from the parts department.

yup they were... and i took them out immediately. I use a floorjack to change my tires because the factory jacks give me the heebe geebees on all new cars...
99% of my clients take the jacks out of there cars on delivery... I actually haven't had a complaint yet.
BUT... that doesn't mean what is right for my clients is right for you. I do understand your point, but i personally don't think that not having a jack will be an issue to a large percentage of MINI's clients.

It appears that you are in the business of selling MINI's - where are you located? I suspect that MINI was looking for ways of increasing $ profit by not including the equipment as in previous years - unfortunate for 2007 buyers- especially for those of us who purchased in 2006 and incorrectly assumed that the car would come with a jack. (As I have experienced with the purchase of 30+ other new vehicles over the years - including those with run-flat tires). A bit "tacky" of MINI for selling cars at MSRP in the MCS price range and eliminating the jack.
Maybe a petition is in order.
I agree with you daffolildeb.
Anyone good at drafting something.
We can pass the letter arround as an attachment and we can each forward it to MINI. If this goes against any forum policies -- please let us know before this goes too far.
It just seems to be natural for a car in this price range to have a jack and the typically required took pkg. runflats or not.

I almost hate to mention this, but my MA found the jack and other tools in other cars and gave them to me. Something to ask for--might be easier than getting MINI corporate to budge. Then again, I have a great MA--Art Bernhardt at MINI of The Woodlands (Houston area).
FWIW... The mellow yellow MCS and the demo sparkling silver MCS at my dealer had a jack and associated tools in each car. I think it is supposed to come with a jack. I'd demand one from your dealer. At least demand an answer.
I think C4's comments are amusing. Plus he can't really hate the 2007 if he's getting an 08 Clubman. From what I can see, it's a 2007 in the front and an Element in the back.
The offical word from MINIUSA
no jacks for cooper S's
Sorry folks.
but now is a great time to invest in a good floor jack. It will definetly help you with your own tire rotations and is much safer than scissor jacks.

MA at Irvine MINI said tool kits and jacks are being given out now even to those that didnt get there's earlyer .He was new and parts department was not open today I'll find out this week when I go in for other repairs.
Manual covers ALL models of Minis, not just yours
There are lots of things shown in that owner's manual that do not apply to your car in regard to optional features you didn't buy/equip yours with. Same with the tool kit/spare tire. Your car comes with next to nothing for tools, and no spare or jack. Simple as that.
Took delivery on my R56 MCs on 2/21/07 - original order 11/27/06, manufactured first week of Jan. '07.
DS/6-speed manual, Black/Grey Leatherette, LSD, Sport Suspension, Premium, Sports and Cold weather Pkgs., Hi-Fi, Chrome In-Out, Auto Mirror, Garage door Opener, 17" Crown Spoke Run Flats.
The under boot tool kit only has 3 tools in the styrofoam package - NO JACK or related tools. My MA stated that all of their R56 vehicles with run-flats have been delivered without a jack. The Owner's Manual shows a tool kit for included with a MINI spare tire package, which includes a jack, and an optional Tire Mobility Kit for standard tires ($112.00 US). Is anyone else missing the jack and associated equipment when your vehicle has run-flats?
A jack is useful, regardless of the types of tires.

Pick-up my ordered MCSa last June 13 with Jack only; no tools; did not notice if I had a tow hook. Will check.
I was told by one MA that the kits were missing from early R56 MCS builds and by another MA (at same dealer) that some early R56 MCS had the kits but that now none have them (and won't)
