Window Tint % Standard

What % "tintage" is on the windows on the mini? Also if you have gotten them tinited, what percent did you get, and what type. New windows with the tint built in? the thin layer on them? spray on layer? Also, pics would be loveley!

Yikes, I don't know but this reminded me I need to plan to get that done. Here in Texas the dealers often offer it, but I need to get a quote locally before I get into the "wanna buy some extras" phase of the purchase and get burned.

I used to get the max tint allowed here on the sides, which I is 25% net on the sides, and you can go jet black in the rear window if you've got left and right rear-view mirrors. Generally the tint installer will meter the windows for you first if you're a net-transmission state.

If a car has "tinted windows" from the factory, it's built-into the glass, and not a separate film. I think pretty much all car glass is tinted somewhat these days, as it reduces the work on the factory A/C system.

Even though the factory tint doesn't block much visible light, it blocks a lot of the UV light. You can tell by rolling your window halfway down and parking so that the sun is shining through the partially-opened window, and then looking at the light as it hits your interior. The light that shines through the glass will be a slightly different colour than the light that's coming in through the open part, and if you move your hand back and forth across the transition, you can feel a difference in the amount of heat.

Thanks! Yea im wondering if i will have to see it in person though to decide on whether i would just need to tint the front windows since the back are already semi tinted, or do i need to tint them all to make it look better. I also found these, smoke tail lilghts

http://www.mossmini.com/Shop/ViewPro...eIndexID=44886

which look pretty cool in my opion on my incoming DS/B w/ B stripes. That plus tinted windows-niceeeeee
