R56 '07 R56 Production Week 5 (01/28-02/03) Support Group
Welll, my car cleared the paint shop on the 31st (according to 866-ASK-MINI) and has finished production.
The web site still shows it "Scheduled For Production". Should be "Awaiting Transport", shouldn't it? Or is that when it physically leaves the plant and starts waiting at the dock in Southampton?
Anyone else have any updates?

I checked the Owners Lounge last night and it said Awaiting Transport....msh yours and mine have been in the same place all along cant be any different now. Could it? Hey msh what do you think of those SS pics from the press release.....Trying not to have scond thoughts on the color!!! DS/B MCS
Uh, oh. Some manager at MINI is sportin' around this week in my ride! Nah. I'm sure in the next day or so I'll oficially be "Awating Transport" (I hope, I hope, I hope).
I went for the DS/White top, Web Spokes, Redwood Red. Anthracite Headliner. All three packages. Chrome Pkgs. inside and out (though some exterior pieces might get removed later). Sport Suspension. LSD. Rear Fogs. White Signals. Hi-Fi.

I'll be glad to have somthing at least a little bit different... not obviously a factory spec'd car
) :
I'm getting mildly concerned... via the web my car STILL says "Scheduled For Production" and the ASK-MINI says production complete, awaiting pick up by the carrier. It's been like that for a week now.
All this as other week 5 cars are being loaded and shipped. Hope nothing is wrong...
I got the MFSW as part of the pack, and ASK MINI has confirmed all the proper build specs... so...
So is it safe to say you asked for the MFSW outside the premium pack (meaning you ordered it as a solo option)?

Yes, my MFSW was a stand alone option (code 255 for $550).
Now my new week 7 order says code 255 (Sports Leather steering wheel) at $550 and code 249 (MFSW) at N/C.
My week 5 car is on the "Titus" ship currently...not that it really matters.
Man, I'm getting anxious not hearing anything or seeing any changes in my status. Almost has me wanting for the days waiting for a production number! OK, well... maybe not.
Some more browsing had me looking for more MINI's in Southampton port. Found a good sized group on the southeastern docks and a couple WW roll-on, roll off ships loading up:

What's equally interesting is the pre-boarding "parking garage. Check it out. Five or six stories of MINI's:

Wonder who's enjoying these ones:

Interested in trying to catch a WW ship loading you MINI live? Try Southampton's Eastern Docks live webcam: http://www.southamptonvts.co.uk/webcams.htm
Or if your on the west coast, look for your ship as it goes through the Panama Canal: http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html
Anyone know of any other places to check? Ports on the east or west coast with webcams?

Week 5, 6, 7 etc - what are the corresponding dates? Is this 1st week of the yr, 2nd week of the yr, etc.? I'm curious in general, but I would love to be able to figure out my "week number" when my car goes to production (8 days on order so far).
Jeez, I feel like Eragon waiting for the egg to hatch. Funny, maybe I'll name my Mini "Saphira" if it's a girl. :-)

Both the MINI Owner's Lounge and ASK-MINI are jiving now... so not much longer 'till it's on a boat. All I can think is A) it has somthing to do with ordering the white roof, when black is the assembaly-line standard (not likely), or B) when doing the final check and pulling out into the yard someone had a minor fender bender and some re-painting was necessary or, finally C) Some factory exec liked my car and took it for a week tour of the Scottish countyside. I've obviously had a lot of time to obsess and come up with some fantastic reason why this occurred.
In all likelyhood it was some paperwork mix-up, it'll be shipped this week and all will be fine.
Have you got any word on what boat your on? Has it shipped, or waiting in the port? As soon as it heads out, you can track it real time. Oh, I can't wait!

Week 1 - January 1-6
Week 2 - January 7-13
Week 3 - January 14-20
Week 4 - January 21-27
Week 5 - January 27-February 3
Week 6 - February 4 - 10
Week 7 - February 11 - 17
Week 8 - February 18 - 24
Week 9 - February 25 - March 3
I would guess your week would be when the car has finished production... but by that logic, I would no longer be in week 5, but week 6. Since it's all very loose, I would just say get a ballpark on what week yours is due and pick whatever active group you want (even if it's week 5

...and for Beeched... looks like the Titus is making good progress!

and for moots... looks like the Don Juan made a drop on Charlston and is en-route back to the Southampton.
Thanks for the update on the Titus, but I think my car "missed" that boat. The WW site now shows it is on the Tortugas. My MA says it has been shipped and is due in Oxnard on 3/7. That doesn't match the Tortugas' schedule, so I'm not sure what ship it is on. Oh well, I'm just glad it is on its way!!
OSUmcs, did you order thru Rasmussen MINI?

Yeah, seems like things often get shuffled around at the last minute, but it all works out in the end.
I also misrepresented somthing earlier... MINI's bound for the US go from Oxford to Southampton by truck:

Not train as I suggested earlier. So mine's been released to the carrier (trucking company) and should be delivered to port very soon to await loading:

In theory, I should have some vessel info in a few days! YAY!!!
... and checking the webcam (http://www.southamptonvts.co.uk/webcams.htm), looks like a ship just arrived it port ready for loading!
