Dealer Progammable functions

Hi all,
My dealer said he'll be able to program my lights to be daylight running lights (I will not have Xenon = although I don't think that's a factor) -- save some on insurance.
Anyone know what other features are Dealer set? Not just lights but any other goodies
tks
jim

Here is a list of the old programmable functions. There may be more or less in the new cars, given the keyless start, etc.

I've read the R56 owners manual from the British model and it gives instructions for setting these options yourself. It will also display fault codes and the drivers window has auto-up. With any luck, all this will be on the US version too.

Actually, on reading the manual that someone on the British forum posted, it looks like you can do this programming yourself.

Do you think the dealer would charge for the programming? I assumed it was part of the new car set-up

The initial programming should be no extra charge. Ask about, and specify what you want activated and not activated, because if you have to go back later, it's gonna cost you.

For the R56, all of the programable options can be done by the car owner. For the dealer to offer to do it for you, that sounds like a nice gesture. Unless they plan to charge you extra for it.

Here's the link for the manual. It was scanned by Rec, a member here and at mini2.

Great thanks for the manual. I hope it reads left to right. You know how they favor the right side on that side of the pond.

No, that's the Hong Kong version, where Chinese does actually read right to left, back to front.

Confirmed that the programmable options (per key) are designed to be programmed by the owner rather than the dealer.
