Wow, so many numbers, so little time to understand it all

Why is a "fake" hood scoop a posuer? What are you "posing" at? Being supercharged when you really turbocharged?

I dont get it.

Its good thing you can buy a JCW badge for the front Grilled cheaply on eBay. First mod!

It was ME. What was meant by it was nothing. It was a freaking joke, a funny, & intended only for those who have a sense of humor. Notice all the emoticons made with the post ( ) & for goodness sake there was a smiley face blowing bubbles with it. Get over it. There's a lot of kidding & poking fun that goes on around NAM. Try hanging around here for awhile & you might actually get to enjoy some of it

satire |?sa?t?r| noun the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices.

I was joking too my friend. I was satirizing the R56 purchasers by extrapolating the reaction to your post to ridiculous extremes. Since I am getting an 07 I can poke fun at us.

So now that this is all cleared up, I hope we can still get together about ditching the convertible people? !

AWD has enthusiast benefits. I'd be worried about the R55 stirring up disdain.

Teresa, were you being sassy to newbies? Remember that newer members aren't always familiar with the various personalities, nor do they necessarily "get" some of the senses of humor on NAM right off the bat. Whether one has a R-whatever or an R56, we're all in this fun community of enthusiasts. Let's keep things friendly, folks.

I figure the scoop on the new MCS will serve as something fun to mod!

Helps for Punch Bug Mini

A couple of months ago, we started playing "Punch Bug Mini". Rules are simple:
1) When you spot a Mini on the road, you call it and sock the other person in the upper arm (it's a game so use discretion with how hard you hit)
2) If the Mini is an "S" a second hit is allowed and anyone can call it.

I started playing this with my wife in preparation of getting our first Mini. I was hoping to get her excited about the differences in the two cars and have her start paying attention to Minis on the road and the customizing folks are doing. It worked, and we're taking delivery of our own R56 MCS this Spring. We can now spot the hood scoop or center pipes at a great distance.

I'll have to learn how to flash my lights at an oncoming Mini while punching!

I personally like the FOOP (fake hood scoop). It will go nicely with my FLOTH (fake leather and cloth interior) and the PFMs (Power Folding Mirrors)!

I have bad news for you. I understand that the mirrors themselves don't actually fold, its the mirror housing, and that doesn't even really fold - just sort of pivots. Hate to break it to you but its really power phony folding mirrors.

Saw this photo linked from another thread...

Doesn't look like much air goes hrough that thing. I'm going with Dave's original description of what the scoop's functionality is.
