OK, can anyone here in the states tell me if there is a delay due to LSD or not? On the Mini2 site there is a current thread about it, but I don't know if that applies to the US or not. I have placed an order with my local Mini dealer and can check my status in the Owners Lounge. That just tells me that my car is awaiting a production date. However, when I check my options on the Mini website the LSD is not listed but neither is Sport Suspension. Does anyone here in the states have a production date for a Mini S with LSD?

 

As in the M2 thread, there is / was a delay on LSD for UK cars. As far as I am aware this is because mini did not yet have a supply. They are due from Jan on UK cars, as the unit is the same in both LHD and RHD this should also apply to US cars.

 

I have a production date w/ LSD and sport susp.

I ordered mine with LSD and Sport on Sept 29 and took delivery on Nov 3rd. They must have been reading my mind knowing I was going to order.... That has to be a record for getting any Mini.

I am glad to hear that John. Let me ask you, when you track your Mini and click on the "review order details" tab does it list LSD in the Factory Ordered Options column? I previously stated that Sport Suspension was missing but I was mistaken, only LSD is missing.

 

Was it an R56?

 

I'm having exactly the same problem, all options including sport suspension, but no limited slip. I only got my production number when I ordered on Tuesday, so I'm not too concerned yet.

 

LSD is missing from miniusa.com's status website for mine as well...I verified through askmini and the dealer... it's definitely odd

The dealer showed an additional $600 charge for crown spokes w/ the sport package...my MA (Liz at Baron) is double checking that for me as it wasn't that way when I ordered 11/29..

 

Mine is the same way.. it's a bug with the website linking to the production system. 1-866-ASK-MINI verified no delay on LSD for US market - it's the crazy brits making a fuss. :-)

 

I had the choice of a late Nov delivery or a late Jan delivery, the difference?

Hence I don't have the LSD as I just couldn't wait another 2 months (being a crazy Brit)

I just checked with MINI USA, and the rep told me that LSD for the US spec cars is NOT delayed--only the Euro spec cars have this problem. I hope he's right...

It still isn't showing on my order review on the website. Guess I'll have to get the car without LSD if it is delayed 'cause I can't wait that much longer. I'm stretching out my ailing car as long as possible as it is.

 

Yeah I also emailed back and forth with my MA about the LSD not showing up in the options list on the owner's lounge web site. The anthracite headliner also didn't show up, and it also didn't specify the black roof I ordered. She assured my that they had submitted the exact spec to mini, and that the web site just may be inaccurate. I think the web site also even states that it could be inaccurate and to check with your motoring advisor for full details.

 

I just checked with my MA and they DO have the exact order (and a scheduled production date of the 3rd week of January). LSD is specified and confirmed. Apparently the website is wrong. I hope.

I've never ordered a car like this where the MA is kept in the dark on things like interior colors and production delays. And there are no cars on the floor to look at with the exact color scheme! It's a little scary, but I know I'll fall in love with whatever MINI has my name on it. Just like motherhood...
