Let the 2007 mods begin...

We don't even have them in our showrooms yet and the Japanese are already moddin' them!
Notice the "AC Schnitzer" front plate? At first I was like "what the hell is that all about?" Then realized the interesting wheels...

Gotta love it.
Leo.
I got it from a Japanese site. The photo has listed the guys that did the work "Bond-Garage"... It's complicated to navigate through their website (since it's all in Japanese), and even a translator won't do you good... There were a few others, yes.
Check them here. Not a lot of pics, just another darker Blue (earlier model) with the AC kit on and a nice exhaust pic of the '07.
Please be advised that the page linked above changes almost weekly. You may have to "fish around" a little (later on in the month) to find these pictures.

At first I thought there was some sort of body kit on the car. Very nice. I've never been a fan of painting the mouldings of the MINI, but that really makes the R56 look sharp. Anyone with experience on painting the mouldings and can give a price on work?
if you look deep into the new MINIUSA site there are sketches of the development of the R56 ... and how at one point MINI thought it might have been better to have body coloured moldings on the new car, rather than black.
i say it would have looked better, case in point the pics above, rather than the brutish, wide new black ones. ...
ah, here is the link:

Some more... Couldn't leave the Cooper S with all the glory, right? hehe.

I don't really think this is the stock body-kit, but I could be wrong... It looks nice, that's all I know. lol.
Take care,
Leo.

I have stood almost alone in saying that the 07 is going to be great...... I really like it and the possibilities for the engine are ( I hope) huge..... I would consider selling and ordering new but I have way too much $ in my car....
Am I the only one that actually liked the rear?? lol. I mean, the black grilles are stupid-looking, but I kinda like the curves on it... Granted, I like the Aero kit bumper for the earlier models MUCH more, but it's something...
The front and skirts are just sick, though.
Take it easy,
Leo.

Gee SpiderX, don't be lonely
, there are a bunch of us that support the R56!

Those in the know (automobile journalists) have given the R56 high marks and glowing praise. They are impressed with the job that BMW/MINI has accomplished.
Based on this, I would say that the R56 is a great car and every bit of it is a MINI!
Now, there are those in the MINI community that haven't yet seen the light. They have chosen to judge the R56, sight unseen (in the flesh), undriven, without experiencing it's charms first hand, and have passed judgement on it!
These individuals have chosen to ignore the praise R56 has received in the motoring press and have blindly made a decision against it.
So, I say that, The best consumer is an informed consumer... One that has a wealth of data and experience with a product and can therefore make a just evaluation.
Eventually, these folks will encounter the R56 and then, I believe, their tune will change. Time is all that is needed to convert the naysayers into accepting the R56. They'll come around.
