Keep in mind that the Imperial Gallon is 1.2 U.S. gallons

31.7 mpg UK/1.2 = 26.4 mpg US (city)
49.6 mpg UK/1.2 = 41 mpg US (highway)
40.9 mpg UK/1.2 = 34 mpg US (combined)

41 highway MPG for the MCS would be phenomenal!

Not really. Try driving 55mph.

I get close to 38mpg calculated by hand when highway driving at 60mph.

Did I miss that the MC would have 6 speed standard in all the reviews? The tech specs list this as a MC hence the 120hp but the link is MCS.
Whew only a marginal gain in MPG, that would have been my only issue of regret for buying an '06.

Yes, all models will be 6-speed (another reason I went with 06... I just can't stand having reverse gear on my left, lol).

I was about to say, that looks like it's in Imperial Gallons... Oh well... I wouldn't think it would be a HUGE gain in mpg, but figured it'd be a little more than now... It appears it is quite A LOT more for highway and combined, esp. for the MC!!! However, the changes being made in 07 definately overpower the mpg gain for me - I'm still glad I am getting an 06

MINI Cooper
Fuel Consumption
36.2 mpg UK/1.2 = 30.2 mpg US (city)
61.4 mpg UK/1.2 = 51.2 mpg US (highway)
48.7 mpg UK/1.2 = 40.6 mpg US (combined)

MINI Cooper S
Fuel Consumption
31.7 mpg UK/1.2 = 26.4 mpg US (city)
49.6 mpg UK/1.2 = 41.3 mpg US (highway)
40.9 mpg UK/1.2 = 34.1 mpg US (combined)

I do wonder how accurate this information is though in regards to converting... I bet the 'official' US mpg will be less, lol...

I don't mind having a 5 speed at all either, heck I enjoyed my 3 speed on the column truck. When the 50th anniversary edition comes out in '09 I guess I'll move on to a 6 speed.

Went deeper and see they still have crappy seats. Of course all the other countries will be able to opt out with Mini's blessing but here

This seems a bit premature. Why not wait and let your butt decide?

Because I can see the lack of side bolstering from the website.
