I guess I'm just easy to please cause every time I see a picture of an 07' it just keeps looking better.
And better mileage, more power, a much more technologically advanced engine, I think they've done a fine job.

OK, is it just me or does it look as if there isn't as much headroom??
I really don't like the beach ball sized speedo. It is HUGE isn't it or did they just make the steering wheel smaller?
I'm very confused. It looks like someone stepped on it a bit and it's shorter and fatter. I don't care for the flatter bonnet or the fake scoop.
Fake scoop=lame
On a positive note, I do like the dash and the seats look cool. Also I like the tail lights.
I guess we'll just have to see it in person!

"Conclusion
There have been very few, if any, new cars which appear to differ so little from their predecessor as the new Mini design..."
Most people won't even be able to tell the difference absent a side by side comparison. These are the same kind of reactions that Porche or BMW get whenever they redesign cars like the 911 or 3-Series respectively. There are the "purists" who resist change and those that embrace the new styling. I have an 06. I certainly don't hate the new one. It doesn't look any better or worse to me, its just slightly different...

Exterior is Fine though the hood isn't as nice.
The MPG ratings are fantastic.
Only thing I'll be envious of. I can even consider getting a MCS in '09.
The NAV is finally touchscreen.
Fake hood scoop is silly, a friend of mine and I was checking out a FJ Cruiser and I popped the hood and laughed with disgust, the salesman said it was just for looks which appears to be the case here. What it could be used for is some aftermarket CAI mods I suppose.
I like the headliner switch group but the interior doesn't appeal to me.
Seat fabric looks like it would wear really quick.
Like the idea of custom interior lighting and pushbutton starter.
Don't like the center console and I bet some aftermarket mfgers. are going to make a sweet replacement.
Overall it's fine and I will probably swap my '06 for an '09 MC. While this is a serious overhaul I would hope there will be much less "1st" year issues. It will also be nice to see what they offer for JCW for both the MC and MCS.

- stress cracked windshields - Ah, how long have we had windshields?

- Leaky coolant expansion tanks - A leak from a plastic bottle?

- Shift linkages that broke easily and left people stranded with the car in on gear they couldn't get out of - attached with plastic clips.

- Cold Start - purely a software issue, as though electronic fuel injection and OBDII were something new.
Anybody else feel like you're at your high school reunion, seeing the girl you had a massive crush on, and she's put on 20 pounds? It's a combination of excitement and disappointment, in just about equal proportions.

I saw that and was like DANG! OUCH! no chillin in that seat.

I think it looks pretty good. Bit more modern, but still keeping that usual Mini look we have gone onto loving.
Don't think though you'll be seeing me trading my '05 Mini for the new '07. Maybe as the years swing by, BMW will give it some more treatment to enhance it's look and just maybe I'll consider it.

I think the new model looks better with stripes than without, so these look better than the spy photos we've been looking at for a year.

Like the new dash, though the over-oversized speedo is getting rediculous. Glad that there will be a proximity feature available for the pushbutton start - the pushbutton start is downright stupid without it. Center console is weak, but not as god-awful as the closeups last week made it look.
Overall, it still looks like a MINI. I won't be losing any sleep over getting my '06. That could change after driving one though ;-)

Maybe they have improved the standard stereo. Also, the change to the door for the mirror control is an improvment.
