R56 MKI resale value after MKII launch
Unfortunately, thats just your wishes... In reality, 02 - 04 cars have taken the depreciation hit while 05/06 cars not so much.
The masses could care less about "refinement" ... only the enthusiasts even bother to look up the differences.
Sorry, you just drove an 06 off the lot, I would expect a BIG hit come January, 07

I second surfblue's comment:
If your really a die hard ENTHUSIAST, you will enjoy and drive what you bought with no consideration of depreciation or milage... just continue to motor on and enjoy every last minute.

Hmmmmm
Here is the thing to think about~There are things about the '07 that really flip my switch such as the push start feature, but I really like the current interior. I personally think that our "classics" will hold their value.
So next August I'll get another copy of the same page and see just how much more the 2002-04 models have come down, which I expect them to do, and trade-in numbers for 2005 models. As for 06 models, it's just too recent to fashion a sound judgement, and as far as your assertion that 06 owners will see a big hit come January 07, that's nothing more than unsubstantiated hyperbole based solely on a new model release and probable market conditions. Won't happen, at least then, and if they do drop, it won't be for awhile. Best 'quenz
