You'd think they would get the cup holders right by now.

Will it cost extra to get a driver's seat?

I like the the new speedo

It's hard to see clearly but I like the center speedo and it looks like they are trying to refine it. The cup holders may be larger?

Motoring File reported on these pics from this same site back in March:

These photos have been circulating for at least three or four months now. I think MotoringFile was one of the first US sites to show them.

It is important to note that these pix DO NOT show the final version of the 2007 model; in fact, among the pix you will find several discrepancies. Instead, it is common for a series of styling exercises to be used in developing the final design. I believe what we see here are photos of these exercises.

We are sure (in general) about some of the changes: revised bonnet, twin-scroll turbo PSA engine (in the S), etc. We just don't know what the final package will look like.

For more detailed info and pix, go HERE to the article on MotoringFile.

2007 mini
It's starting to look more and more like a BMW.

I'm convinced the designer of the interior is the same one they used for the new 5 and 7 series.

You can really tell from the pictures that the person who penned this MINI is definitely not the same person who penned our one. Can anyone else see their design character differences? This MINI has the same charateristics as the new design BMW's (Elegant and feminine - as opposed to the older aggresive look Bimmers).

That big circle speedo in the middle of a rectangle is driving me crazy. There are no more smooooth lines to the interior. Nothing blends in with anything else. It's as if they fed it McDonalds for 30 days, 3 times a day. Look how the far right a/c vent is popping out like a fat side belly.

I'm waiting to see what really happens w/ the '07s. The whole story probably won't be known 'til '08. I remain optimistic....but guarded.

One design criticism that the current mini faced was in the interior department. Simply overdesigned and overtexturized with various materials and colors. Personally I wished the mini was somewhat pure and clean inside. The 07 mini looks like they're not improving much by shoving 20 reading info on center dial at once. The BMW/Mini people should study the original more.

I'm a total Mini rookie, but I don't like these pics much. Yeah these are test models, and not the end result, but egh, not likeing the direction.

Leave it to Autospies to steal some old photos and pawn them off as a big new find. Like Koopah mentioned earlier, I wrote a lengthy article all about the next generation MINI back in late March on MotoringFile. I'd half expect them to steal that as well but it contains actual words, something they're typically averse to. Anyway the article included links to these same photos.

So if you want real information rather than photos of a couple of design mock-ups, check out this MotoringFile article: http://www.motoringfile.com/2005/03/..._mini_revealed

You can also see some renderings of what the 2007 MINI's exterior will look like here: http://www.motoringfile.com/2005/05/..._mini_mock-ups
