Lock issues after battery change

Recently switch my 2010 MCS battery to agm and used the foxwell to register the new battery.

however now the key fob lock and unlock button doesn’t work and neither does the central lock switch doesn’t activate the locks either.

using the scanner, I can actuate the locks and alarm system. When I plug in the key I get an amber key symbol on the dash but with no other markings. I suspect the cas and jme are not communicating or the vehicle doesn’t recognize the key fob. The vehicle still starts.

currently have the negative terminal disconnected in hopes to drain all capacitors and allow for a reset but otherwise at a loss.

anyone know how to resolve this?

If disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes doesn't work, try resynchronizing the key fob with the CAS.

disconnected for an hour and it didn’t work. But also the radio stations were still stored so I’m thinking I need to leave it disconnected for longer.

how do you resync the key to the CAS?

Use your scan tool to determine whether the key fob is recognized by the CAS and whether the CAS and/or JBE are showing Coding Index 00, which means they are not recognized and need recoding.

Your scan tool also may be able to test whether: The central lock switch works, fob battery is low, fob buttons function properly, and whether the CAS recognizes the fob in the ignition switch.

Make sure to turn on the headlights or hit the brakes to drain residual energy when the battery is disconnected.
