Infotainment Screen Replacement?

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking at purchasing a 2010 R56 JCW pre-LCI (found a great one, maybe I'll post more about it once I have it) and the one thing it needs is as new infotainment screen. The original one works but has a big cluster of dead pixels right in the middle.

I've found the part number from RealOEM (65503451496) and see that there are many available on eBay for pretty cheap ($2-300). I'm fairly certain I can figure out how to replace the screen but the one thing I haven't been able to determine is whether it will require any coding to do this swap or not. I assume swapping the entire headunit would require coding, but will a screen swap also require some? Any insight on this matter is appreciated!

Also going to put a MMI module in so I can get android auto going, but that shouldn't be difficult. Just trying to figure out how to swap the screen.

Thanks!

An AI response, which seems to make sense, indicates that coding is unnecessary to replace only the infotainment screen.

You won't need any re-coding, the part that takes the longest is just getting to the screen, should take you about 30 minutes.

Alright, excellent. That's what I assumed but just wanted to make sure. Will report back once I've done it.
