M7 or Forge Silicone Intake hose.. or other

Buying a 2013 R56 JCW on the 23rd. The turbo to intake tube grommet/adapter is missing. To avoid driving 9 hours home with it like that I olan to swap in the airport.

with that in mind the two most available options i have found are m7 and forge. The m7 is a little pricier but would fit right in with the aftermarket catch can and aem intake. The Forge is a little cheaper and id have to buy the NM replicators and bypass the catch can until i get it home and can cut it down to size for the oem plug adaptor and catch can hoses (i.e. the Forge seems to be marketed as R60 but was told it fits)

anyway looking for any advice or experience. Need to order tomorrow to get in time.

I would be open to any options. Detroit tune adapter would be cheapest but I dont have a torch at the airport. I prefer one like Alta used ti make which was aluminum but I cant find one like that

The Alta tube supposedly only fit the N14 engines, so skip that one.

I had the M7 on my N18 Clubman. Fitment was great, and dropped right in with my AEM intake. It also has the little nipple port on the bottom for the crankcase breather tube.

Skip the catch can. The N18 engine don’t benefit from them as much as the N14 engines. My N18 ran for over 200k miles without one, and I never had to have the intake valves cleaned.

It has an NM catch can on so Ill probably plumb it into whatever I buy just because I guess.

You felt the M7 tube was a decent quality?

I would prefer a hard tube similar to like what NM or CTS have in their intake kits but I dont think I am installing that in an airport parking lot from the videos ive watched

The only hard tube intake I might recommend is the NM intake, but the cost is pretty steep. I prefer the AEM design, since it includes a functional hood scoop. No intake is going to give huge gains on these cars, mostly noise. I ended up buying the M7 inlet pipe because my OEM inlet pipe cracked at the turbo inlet. Quality was top notch, and it slotted right in. Should take you ~5 minutes to install in a parking lot with just a screwdriver.

Oh, and the M7 inlet pipe includes the resistors for the breather connections.

Car currently has an AFE Power Stage 2 CAI and ill be putting the m7 intake tube on it.

I kind of like the aluminum charge pipe of the CTS. Would I be dumb to sell the M7/AFE setup and swap for a CTS?

If that’s what you want. I had heard the CTS intake was designed for the N14 engine, and they just added ‘compatibility’ for the N18 when it came out. As such, I heard (no first hand experience) that it doesn’t fit quite right in the N18 engine.
