R56 CODE 2c57
CODE 2c57
Hello, I have a 2013 mini cooper s with the n18 engine. I've been having problems with getting absolutely zero boost. It started earlier this year after i changed my coolant crossover pipe. At first i would get no boost until 3rd gear but eventually it went away completely. I checked out my wastegate and found that it had a ton of play so i replaced my turbo. After installing a new turbo im still having the same issue. If i try to put my foot down all the way while driving i get a half engine light and code 2C57. It doesn't change the way the car drives. I have checked my vacuum lines and they are all connected and look to be in tact. The car idles fine and starts up fine my car is just extremely slow. Also not sure if this matters but the first start with my new turbo it was a cold start and i heard my bov going off during the cold start like 3 times. any help would be appreciated.

When I redid my coolant system I accendentaly unplugged the turbo vacuum line. It is hidden and easily comes apart. If I remember it's located near the blow off valve and covered with a mesh sleeve. It runs back to the firewall and around the intake manifold. Check that it is connected.
I checked all the vacuum lines, took off the intake to ensure where they go was still connected, and they were. I replaced rhe pressure converter and the problem persists. I should have the new MAP sensor here tomorrow and PCV valve...Ill post my update then.
I found the problem, my CHRA has siezed. I checked the compressor wheel spin when I first had this issue and it did spin...maybe this is why it was intermittent at first? After replacing Pressure Converter, Diverter, Boost Pressure Sensor, checking hoses and vacuum tubes dozens of times - I decided to check the turbine wheel again and it doesnt budge. Luckily I just replaced the OEM turbo in my White with a Hybrid so I have a backup turbo to throw in this one.
Check to see if your turbo even spins!
