Just got mine. It is a lot easier to read. on broad daylight, I dont need my reading glasses.

Excellent fix to a very dumb design choice. I've come quite fond of calling mine the "dipsh_t", but I'll have to move past that excellent name.

 

Carefully file down the plastic end to about 50% thickness. Then file three grooves across the flat. one at top and one at the bottom adjacent the empty mark and one in the middle for half full. now it's easy to read no problem and still the stock dipstick.
