Why Bosch spark plug is twice cheaper than NGK Genuine Mini?

My car is Cooper S Turbo R56 2009. I live in cold northern area.
I need new spark plugs. PelicanParts charge $20 per plug for NGK Genuine Mini and $11 for Bosch. I didn't find anything online explaining if it's better to use NGK or I can the twice-cheaper Bosch ones for this model and year. Can I buy the cheaper one or stick with OEM one?

Mini doesn't make spark plugs, they buy plugs from a plug manufacturer and stick them in a Mini box. Pelican and ECS will typically have the OEM equivalent part available, and that's almost always what I go with.

When talking spark plugs, if the Mini ones are NGK then I would *probably* go with the OEM-equivalent NGK...they're $17 so they save you $3 each over Mini. Bosch are *probably* perfectly fine, but sometimes with plugs I've seen weird differences between manufacturers, so personally I'd just stick with OEM brand. Since it's only a $24 difference for four plugs and since plugs last a long time I'd probably just err on the side of the NGKs.

That said, I tend to overthink these things and the Bosch ones will almost certainly be fine, lol.

Incidentally, if the NGK 97968 is the correct plug, FCP Euro has them for $14.60

NGK and Bosch are good. NGK used to be the OEM, Bosch used to be for the gen 1 MINI. MINI just changed things up and now Champion of France is the OEM supplier. They are making the move and now some of the older plugs are showing up which champion france plugs.

NGK had some major supply issues due to covid and I think MINI jumped suppliers. Or they got a better deal.

The Cooper S tends to need plugs more often, i have to do they JCW ones like around every 30K.
