As you can see from this photo, it appears that the wire going to this coupler was chewed by a mouse. I'm pretty sure this is the A/C pump. Can someone tell me what this wire is for and how important it may be?? I just happened to see it while looking at something else.

Did you follow the wire to where it terminates; yes it looks like the AC compressor connector, but need you to zoom out a little. It looks like an easy repair if you can see bare wire.

Just use some liquid wire sealer on the bare wire
