Carbon Cleaning

Bought the BMW specific tools and can't find an adapter for the wand. Part number 81292208032. Does anyone know what size the female adapter is to attach it to the media blaster? I went to 3 different hardware stores and could not find a fitting. Going to go to a Fittings specialists store tomorrow but thought I would ask. I have read multiple forums here about the carbon cleaning process, but nobody specifies how they adapted it to the media blaster.

This part for specifics,

Thank you,

Just in case someone ever needs to know, I was able to remove the existing nut and ferrule. And put my own compression fittings on it to work. Would probably suggest just buying the Bavarian brand because it looks like it already comes with a male standard npt attached.

I went with an extremely messy process of my own doing. I thoroughly cleaned and dried my wet/dry vacuum so I could easily reuse the walnut media. I took one of the random plastic fittings that come with the vaccum and with shears, a cut-off wheel, and a heat gun, made a serviceable collection device to hook to my vacuum cleaner hose. Started with #1cyl and stuffed the other three with rags, as well as any other openings into the engine. The end result was perfect as the goal was to get the valves perfectly clean. There appeared to be quite a bit of media that got on the floor and other places, but by weight / volume I don't think I actually lost more than a couple percent of it. I would run probably ten pounds or so of media to clean each port so I had to dump the media from the vacuum back into the blaster tank a few times. I do wish I'd have bought the adapter wand like you did. I kind of made my own and it was more than $34 worth of my time doing so. Either way, they're done! Good luck with yours.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I bought the bmw wand and vacuum attachment. They ended up working fantastic and will so in the future. I just had the minor set back of trying to find a fitting to adapt the wand to the media blaster. Like I said though, I was able to modify it. I would have liked to not do that, but it worked.
