Manual transmission rebuild?

Does anyone out there have a tutorial and/or a reliable parts source/brand for work inside the Getrag 6sp manual transmission? My 09 Base decide to stop acknowledging 2nd gear completely. Started out with a double clutch required to get 2nd to hold, now she just grinds and grinds. I'm pretty sure the synchro is shot, as all other gear changes are fine.

Thanks 930! I've come across a few of those sites also, but was hoping there was a NAMee that had actually done some work inside the trans that could speak from experience. Maybe reaching out to the Ford folks is a better option, like you suggested. A new/rebuilt is out of the question, costing more than the car itself. I've already put ~$1200 into getting it running and my Finance Manager is starting to ask the uncomfortable questions about the Return On Investment.

Finance manager. I have one of those too, pesky bunch. Except mine is my older brother, so it's worse!

Depending on where you are, I have a good lower mileage..I think around 30-40k mile transmission that I would let go for cheap. Maybe $100?

I'm in North Chicago.

Cheers

I appreciate the offer, robjlr. If I was a little closer I'd definitely be willing to take a look at it. Unfortunately, Chi-town is quite a haul from Southern Maryland. I have a fluid change in the works for this weekend. It's probably a waste of time, but who knows? Maybe I'll get lucky. Regardless, my Pops always told me that 2nd is the first loser, I'll just skip it for a while.
