R56 Onboard reading of drivetrain fault code?
Onboard reading of drivetrain fault code?
Just got a 2013 R56S and (true to form) already have my first fault code -- the engine outline colored in diagonally, meaning drivetrain. I am wary of driving it too far to an auto parts to store to be read, and my dealer is now closed. (It does not appear to be on limp mode, but I was driving it gently anyway so not sure. )
I've seen a video that depicts how to read codes onboard on the tach, but it appears to be just onboard data like oil temp, etc,, not diagnostic codes.
So my questions:
1. What is on the list for "drivetrain fault"? Is it safe to drive it to an auto parts store to be read?
2. Is there a way to read the codes onboard on the tach to identify my specific drivetrain fault codes?
Thanks for any help.

That's a half engine power light.
You need a code reader.
No one can tell you if it's safe. But if it's boost related, then it's fine. But how could you know. If it's only half power without check engine light, then yeah, I'd say you could think about driving.
