Tires for new wheels 2013 R56 MCS

Hi all! New to the forum so if there are existing threads on this topic feel free to point me in the right direction and apologies in advance!

I just bought some new wheels for my 2013 R56 Mini Cooper S: Advanti Racing Storm S1's 17x8 with +35 offset.

I'm just getting into modifications as its my first car and wondering what the proper wheel size should be. I would like to try to take the car to an autocross track some weekends and I live in Bogotá with very awful roads so I need something that helps with both. Also everything on the car is stock at the moment and don't plan on making suspension adjustments anytime soon and don't want any rubbing.

Here are the sizes I'm looking at (please let me know if ya'll are running anything similar and pics if you have them):

205/45-17- from what I heard these are a stretch for 8 inch wheels?
215/45-17
215/40-17
225?
235?

Thanks for the help!

215/47-17 at stock ride height should be fine. It will look a little awkward, but you should have any rubbing.

On a 17x8 +35 wheel, you are likely to get some rubbing with a bigger tire

Post some pics when mounted up.

I'm curious why you went with an 8" rim.

I was hoping to go for a larger contact patch

Just got them mounted on with a 215/45-17 tire, and they fit perfect. The ride feels so much better than my run-flats. Thanks for the help!

Wheels: Advanti Racing Storm 1 17x8 +35
Tire: MAXXIS 215/45ZR17 MAZ1 VICTRA
