Display illumination

Has anyone changed the backlight illumination for the LCD Display in the Tach (or is it possible?). I can't read the MPH too well wearing my sunglasses. I had the same issue with my Boxster, and replaced the orange LED's with bright white.

TIA

Are your sunglasses polarized? Some polarized sunglasses have the polarization at 90° to the LCD polarization, which blacks out the display. Changing the LEDs will do nothing in that case.

They are polarized, and I can read the LCD displays, but would like it to be a little brighter, so easier to see.
