R56 Radio buttons backlight not working
Radio buttons backlight not working
Hi,
My radio buttons backlight decided to die. Everything is working with the radio. The only thing that is missing is the backlight and I can't see anything at night.
Anyone had the same problem? I've read that some people had problems with radios not working or the LCD panel dying but that's not the case here.
How can I try to diagnose what happened? Can this be related with a fuse?
Thanks!

You need to replace the LCD panel. ECS Tuning has this part and you cannot buy it from BMW/MINI as they will only sell you the entire radio unit. I bought mine there and I am just to lazy to do the swap as it will take some disassembly of the dashboard and center console.
Thanks for the information. Is it okay to put the ECS Tuning link to this part, or Is it against forum rules? If I were on my desktop with multiple monitors, a quick search on the ECS site would be easy, but navigation on my phone and tiny keyboard are more challenging.

Okay, this information provides an excellent reference for the NLA status of this component at ECS and clarifies the thread.
