Coolant Leak

I have a coolant leak from what I thought was the expansion tank. Replaced it. Topped up fluid and left car idling for 15 mins. Expansion tank went up and down. No leaks. Took for a test drive for a few miles. Coolant dripping again from under the turbo area. Any ideas?

The expansion tank hardly fails.....Actually all the other fails easier.
Could be radiator of the AC could be tyour coolerSome hose...Coolants are easy to find out where its leaking most of the times..!

Simplest would be

If that fails then pressure test the system, also on YouTube.

Thanks, the UV kit looks pretty cool. It's just odd it did not leak for the 15 mins it was idling.

Could be a coolant leak where the coolant connects to the Turbo. I don't think its under pressure until you're moving and using the turbo. At idle you would not get a leak. The turbo has in/out coolant and oil lines that cool and lubricate it. These connections do fail!!!

Good Luck,

Rick

Yes I recently had a crack in the T where the return line from the turbo joins in, that’s a bit of a common failure I think. That and of course the thermostat.
