R56 Lpfp
Lpfp
Potentially a stupid question, but will my 2011 MCS N18 start and run/drive with the in-tank LPFP inop? Been getting P0087 lean codes and limp mode for a few months now, and more frequently lately. Now I notice when I unlock my car with the keyfob that I don't hear the LPFP priming. Anyone have the LPFP fail and still have their MCS (somewhat) functional?
P0087 is a low fuel rail pressure code. I would suspect the High pressure pump, not the low pressure pump. However, if the low pressure pump is not working correctly, the high pressure pump could be starved for flow and cause low rail pressure...
Don't you have a BMW / Mini DTC reader? What DTCs are being stored in the computers?

Also, my HPFP has previously failed, and I got totally different codes and symptoms when that happened.
