R56 Need help with parts
Need help with parts
I have what I think is a R56 with N14. It’s a 2008 Mini Cooper S hatchback. It’s got a bad valve. I can’t seem to find a kit to rebuild the cylinder head or do I have to individually buy everything? Need a head gasket kit too. I also wouldn’t mind getting a turbo rebuild kit also. Is there somewhere for a 1 stop shop for this stuff? Car is stock and keeping it that way.
Our NAM vendors have most of the necessary parts, look for one local to you --- ECS, WMW, Pelican, etc. Head gaskets are usually not part of the head gasket kits, and the gasket kits available will contain various gaskets --- you gotta pay attention to kit contents to ensure you get the gaskets you need. Turbo rebuild kits may or may not be available. Due to the high RPM's involved, I wouldn't want to try rebuilding then testing a turbo. Maybe for a stock rebuild, but still risky. Haven't seen any other head kits, strictly individual parts.
Hello,
Here you go: https://www.ecstuning.com/Mini-2008-...s_-and-_Seals/ and https://www.ecstuning.com/Mini-2008-...14B16A/Engine/
On turbos most go with stock Borg warner, which we have full unit. Or they upgrade to JM Turbo Coopers and get a tune.

We have everything you need. But if you have a burnt valve you need to send the head to the machine shop and get new guides and seals as they are likely worn out. If you don't have a machine shop there you can ship it to us as we do those repairs.
I wouldn't buy a "kit" for head rebuild as you will likely end up buying a bunch of stuff you don't actually need, or being short the items you do need.
Make a list and get what you want and need individually as we can supply it all.

As for turbo rebuild kits there isn't an option for that just replacement. So if it is good and working you can either reuse it, or sell it as a good used unit and go for a new turbo.

You can also get a new turbo cartridge. Rockauto.com has them in stock $184. More than a rebuild kit...a LOT less than a new turbo. I bought one to re-new my turbo (07s, N14) and it's been great now for about a year.
