Wanted R56 N14 Long Block Core

I have an 2008 R56 N14. It has 250,000 km. Burns oil. Runs good. What i am looking for is someone who is pulling their engine and replacing with another one. I am looking for the long block Core. i am going to rebuild it to 250 plus HP and have it ready for when i may need it in the future. This way i can have the fun of the rebuild over time instead of just saving money, buying parts and putting them on shelve until its time. So if anyone knows anyone please drop me a response.

Depends on your definition of cheap! Lohan.co.uk they have some pretty good deals on crate engines ! You could have them customized to what you want ! Way motor works ! Never dealt with them tho but I've heard good things ! An yeh parts are hard to come by! When I did my build I ended up using the original block an head from the car! The only parts car I could find in my area the guy wanted $1500 for the block with a bad head gasket and he wasn't even sure if it was a head gasket

i would think about a grand is what you should expect to pay. If you could find an aftermarket reman that's what the core charge would be..

Thanks folks for the replies. I have been working on a backup plan B incase I cant get a core to work with. I will wait to next Christmas Vacation and put it in the shop and pull it apart and do the bottom end. I will have to drive the Jeep TJ for a couple months lol. I am going to start a new thread showing how Im going to go from what i have to as close to 300Hp as i can and still be daily driver. i have a $10,000 to $15,000 budget for the project. Must be going through my second child hood. Thats what a mini cooper will do lol.

If you have that much to play with have Lohan do a build or get a hold of Jan from rmw

Go check out some of Lohan ' mini challenge car I know it's a lazy way of doing it but way worth it being how difficult the n14 can be

hey thanks for the Lohen tip.
I grew up building stuff and like the tinkering so now am trying to teach my 22 year old son. He has shown some interest in this project so Im trying to stick to the rebuild. So I have started a new thread today about that (its in review before they allow it on the site dont know how long that takes). So when it comes up, please come over there and help me out.

For bottom end reliability on a 300+WHP build, I highly recommend the Cylinder Support System from CNCWerx in NH --- http://cylindersupportsystem.com I have pics of my blown engine, and another block with this CSS here --- https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ml#post4236091 --- posts #1 and #6

If it's gonna be a DIY project, get a Bentley manual to find out which special tools you'll need, get torque specs, tightening sequences, etc. Some tools can be worked around but not all.

Can't blame you one bit for wanting to do something with your son!
My only really suggestion is do your home work and make the best judgment calls! Am a pretty big gear head' and when I traded in my gti 24v for a mini from work I was pretty surprised the lack of performance oriented guys on the mini forums " even over on torque! Few an far! I highly recommend getting a hold of Emily over at Lohen with any questions you have' she all ways get a hold of one of there race tech! Can be kind of timely do to time zones differents !! Hell she even tracked down a manic engineer for me! With a laundry list of questions for a custom map I had them do! Other then that have fun there's really nothing special about the motor's they have some wired corks to them but nothing crazy ! An piggy backing what dude sad up there get a Bentley ' something about' British motors love there torque specs

This link plus the other one Stephen lists --- awesome build. Also note that he too used the CNCWerx Cylinder Support System.

Hey folks
I started a new thread two weeks ago and it said it went to review but has never come on. I'm new so was wondering what the normal turn around time was for this by the administrator of this site?

I've yet to have a new thread "reviewed", 'course I've been posting for awhile too. Maybe try starting another one? Or, just add on to this one?

I have a n14 long block I'm pulling out of my car now if anyone is interested.

If you want it I don't want cash I need an ECU with key for a 2016 countryman s. Im trying somthing everyone is saying is impossible. I have a 2007 mini Cooper s and I bought a n18 engine out of a 2016 countryman s that was in an accident and it only had 4000 miles for 800 bucks so it's worth a try. If your interested ive seen the ECU and key as a kit on eBay for couple hundred bucks. Up to u.
