Brand new Genuine turbo feed line side to side play. Normal?

Hi! My R56s with 110000km on the clock has developed oil leak on both turbo oil lines as well as the oil filter housing, finally.

I have all required parts ready. However, the turbo feed line, there’s side to side play between banjo fitting and hard line. It’s able to be slid in and out by about 1/4” too. (Video attached)

I understand this turbo line only relies on a little O-ring to seal. As elasticity of O-rings, some side to side play is expected.

How about the in and out play? Is it designed to be flexible for easier installation, or I have a bad copy?

Look at the turbo line cut-out picture from DT, it seems there’s no cramping mechanism between banjo and hard line but I doubt. I’m now a bit hesitated to install this line. If it will leak I will have a 5 hours redo just for this line, which I don’t want.

Cutout of turbo feed line banjo fitting from DT

Please comment and thanks in advance!

In the video that looks like a new OE line, not the braided line Detroit Tuned made that bolts to a banjo adapter. See here: https://www.detroittuned.com/detroit...-oil-line-kit/
That's what I used.

The problem with that kit is they put restrictors in their fitting, possibly starving your turbo of oil pressure. If it was a good idea the factory would have done it. Also, the return line is silicone. Silicone is never a good idea to use with anything dealing with oil. The oil will leak into it at some point and make it soft. Not an ideal kit. All of their talking points are not even true. Still, the best kit out there to fix all of the problems by the company that originally created the Turbo Oil Line Fix. https://www.detroittuned.com/dt-turb...ine-super-kit/
