Help a newb with weird MINI stuff please?
Hello, new owner and new on site. 2013 MINI Cooper S, Cold Weather and Sport packages. It's FUN! But it's weird.
Edit with updated info:
1. The turn signal doesn't seem to stay up or down when using it like most cars. Checked owners manual, that seems to be normal.
2. Problem: the headlights don't noticeably change when going from off (DRL) to parking lights to headlights. Seems like the same brightness. Normal?
3. BIGGEST PROBLEM: I have the exterior light warning on my cluster when I start the car. Did the dummy checks. All lights work, even license plate lights, reverse lights, and both pairs of brake lights.
Ok. Hooked up the Foxwell NT510 and got codes for basically everything. Cleared all, and the only two to return are the front left and right marker lights. Replaced the marker lights - previous owner had installed the wrong bulb. Cleared codes with NT510. Saul Goodman.
EXCEPT now all codes are cleared, but the damn cluster warning light is still on!!! Please help!!
FRM is communicating with the Foxwell scanner.
I have FAQed and reviewed my owners manual, and did a few searches here. I am not new to cars at all, but I am new to the MINI.

3 - if the PO installed the 'wrong' bulbs in the side markers, is it possible he installed LEDs elsewhere?
They will show as defective unless the coding is changed from incandescent to LED & I don't know if that's possible on a 2013 car. Canbus LEDs will fix it.

1 completely normal. You have to go through the menu to set it up to do the three blinks when depressed half way. When pressed all the way it will blink till it clicks of via steering wheel but the turn signal arm doesn’t stay locked up or down in the position that it was pressed like other cars.
